WHAT IS APRAXIA?

Apraxia is a motor planning disorder where the brain has difficulty coordinating and planning the movements for sounds. The following features are common:

  • vowel distortions

  • separation of syllables in words, or between words

  • difficulty moving smoothly from one sound to the next

  • inconsistent errors

  • limited number of consonants
