Erica Azzurri, M.A. CCC-SLP
I am the owner and sole practitioner of Azzurri Speech Therapy located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Memphis. I have worked in various settings including schools and early intervention.
I am trained in PROMPT, DTTC, Beckman Oral Motor, TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy, and orofacial myology. I specialize in treating childhood apraxia of speech, feeding disorders, and orofacial myofunctional disorders.
Recipient of 6 ASHA ACE awards, each awarded for completing 70 hours of continuing education.
I provide in-home services in Allegheny County. My sessions occur in your home, or at your child's school/daycare. I can also provide tele-therapy services to anyone in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
I am the sole practitioner of my company, which means you receive services from a consistent therapist.
My sessions are typically longer, depending on your child and family's needs.
I emphasize family involvement and use home programs so that your child improves at a faster rate. I utilize a material-lending program, in which your family can borrow therapy materials to practice at home.
My practice is smaller, so I am able to dedicate time to planning individualistic therapy for your child, and am available to communicate between sessions.
I listen to families and children when making decisions about therapy goals and activities.
My therapeutic approach consists of a combination of structure and play, because I believe that children learn better when they are engaged.
